finally i get to introduce on my blog DoucetteDuvall! I was lucky enough to meet with one of the creators of this amazing line, Annebet. She sat down with me for an interview on how DoucetteDuvall began and her inspiration. She brought me a few pieces that I died over, the next few posts will be dedicated to doucetteduvall and some of the fabulous pieces for the fall line.
1. How did you first go about starting your line?
A: I lived in a walk up in little Italy and my neighbor and I decided to start a line together.
2. What is your favorite collection for fall?
A: Proenza Schouler – resort. Love the mix and match style.
3. What is your inspiration behind the collection?
A: Menswear was the biggest inspiration, sort of like your boyfriends clothing.
4. How do you create a line that will stand out from other collections?
A: It is really hard. Every collection of ours is superior to the collection before that. We try to make it eco friendly, and a lot of prints and mixing and matching.
5. What are you wearing today? And how do you describe your own style?
A: My dress is Doucette Duvall, my shoes are Marc Jacobs, and jewelry is Jennifer Miller. My style is about being comfortable. Mostly vintage t-shirts.
6. What advice can you give girls who are trying to start their own line? Where do they begin?
A: It’s a lot simpler than you would think. Do what it is you like and feel, and GET a business manager. Produce locally (NY+LA).
7. What are your 3 must haves in your closet for fall?
A: I own a business so I’m not really a big shopper, but 1. brooklyn bridge ring by Noir, 2. A franny pack (Fanny pack), and 3. lots of shoes!
8. Can you describe your line in 3 words?
A: Every girl, downtown-uptown, cozy, menswear, wools, heavy silks, basically stuff you want to wear.

FINALLY THE NEW LINE POPPY FOR COACH HAS LAUNCHED!!!
(CLICK HERE TO SHOP POPPY! If you go to the coach.com website, just click New at Coach tab
:)
)

I was super excited when I was asked to be one of the bloggers to represent the new line Poppy for Coach. The array of amazing items I was able to choose from was beyond difficult considering I loved absolutely everything. I finally decided on this Short Four Strand Cupchain Necklace in Navy (of course), and the Poppy Leather Bella tote. I paired it with my favorite light and easy Elizabeth and James button down, and my JBrand cut off jean shorts for a fun downtown chic look.

this dress is amazing. it’s like a darker purple bathingsuit like material underneath and then this light purple on top. i wish i took pictures of the back because that is one of the best parts of the dress. it’s such a great birthday dress for the summer. like i’ve mentioned before in other posts, i love mixing different shades of the same color, and this dress came like that. taking photographs with jane today, we will be shooting a lot of the new fall pieces for doucette duvall. can’t wait to share!

this shirt is dedicated to my balmain favorite. as mentioned several times before, green is my favorite color after black, and i sometimes really love mixing different shades of the same color in one outfit. after a nice relaxing weekend, i’m wide awake scrolling through style.com while the wedding singer plays on the tv for the 50th time tonight. style.com always gives me inspiration and different ideas. i am shooting tomorrow so falling asleep the night before is usually a difficult task. billions of ideas, moods, expressions, feelings, race through my head and then portrayed through my style the next day. it’s quite fascinating/exhausting if you think about it.
off to do just that!

can’t get enough of this skirt. i love mixing high end pieces with lines like free people. free people always seems to fascinate me. i’m not a big free people person, but my little sister only shops there and every time she shows me something new, i want it. if you know me, you know i’m a big hat person, any kind of hat you show me, i’ll make it work. top hats are my favorite though.i loved how it looked with my skirt. they so don’t belong together – hence why i put them together. i’m super excited to attend the elizabeth and james event tonight at bloomingdales because it’s hosted by my stylist sister! gotta find some sort of outfit.
