DISfunkshional Interview :)
Name: Arielle Nachmani
Blogger since: August 2009
What was the idea behind starting your blog?
It was really supposed to be a hobby, I had/have a serious passion for art and fashion and wanted to use myself as a canvas to portray my style and my perspective on life, emotions, and expressions. I had a lot of people coming up to me asking about my outfits so I figured this would be the best way to explain.
How would you describe your personal style?
Indescribable, it changes day to day and varies based upon my mood, my day, where I’m at in life. It’s a mix of everything that inspires me in my life. It’s whatever keeps my attention when looking through my closet or shopping in a store. I get bored very easily, so I tend to change my outfit several times a day.
Where do you draw style inspiration from and why?
My inspiration is drawn from the thoughts that race through my mind day to day, Tim Burton, and I’m also very inspired by my mother and my older sister. They made me who I am today.
What are the top 5 staples in your closet?
Can everything I own be staples? An extremely out of the norm pair of heels, (a shoe you’d never usually purchase, but you did because they made you feel different), a great fur coat and a great trench coat, the perfect all around skirt, knee highs, and an oversized sweater in a wild color.
What do you do when you’re not blogging?
Watch scary movies and research how the universe was created (I’m a science nerd), embracing manhattan nightlife with my friends, and spending a lot of time with my family.
Which designers do you love right now?
Jean Paul Gaultier, Givenchy, Rick Owens, Isabel Marant, Issey Miyake.
What are the top 3 items on your dream shopping list?
Hmmm…the BCBG Max Azria Pony Hair Mendel Wedge bootie, everything from the Isabel Marant collection, a really great vintage fur coat for winter, oh and the Mulberry Alexa bag.
