Dine Out for a Date

Via Carota: 51 Grove Street

American Bar: 33 Greenwich Avenue

Dante: 551 Hudson Street and 79-81 Macdougal Street

We love picking a fun neighborhood, like the West Village, to explore and have dinner. It feels like a true destination since it's away from where we both live. A few of our favorite restaurants in this area are Via Carota, American Bar, and Dante–they're all are super romantic for a date night!

Antonucci Cafe: 170 East 81st Street

For an uptown date, we love Antonucci. It's a lowkey restaurant with amazing Italian food and very good drinks. It is a perfect romantic spot!

At-Home Date Ideas

Making a Fun Dinner Together: Cooking dinner at home can still feel spicy and special. The key is to plan an exciting menu (don't make something simple like salmon!). Instead, pick something more interactive like making your own sushi or pizza. Then, you can go all out getting things that go with the cuisine!

Plan a Game Night: A game night is a foolproof date idea. Order in from your favorite restaurant, play some board games, and make an elaborate cocktail too! A go-to game for us is Monopoly Deal.

Plan an Activity-Filled Date

Go Bowling: This is a new fun date we started doing–we go to Bowlero in Queens. Bowling is such a fun, easy activity to do for a date. We also started bringing another couple so it's a double date, which makes it even more fun. Team up the couples and whoever wins has to host you for dinner!

Plan a Quick Trip: For a really adventurous date, take a trip to Connecticut for the day to see Philip Johnson's The Glass House. After your tour, spend some time exploring the charming town of New Canaan.

Dine Out for a Date

Tartine: 253 West 11th Street

In NYC, our go-to's have always been Barbuto (is it ever coming back?!) or Tartine, both in West Village. Tartine is BYOB and has the best spicy chicken around. It’s so charming, romantic, and perfect.

Buvette New York: 42 Grove Street

Breakfast dates are always fun! In NYC, we head to Buvette for the most delicious waffle egg sandwich and to feel like we've been transported to France. We like to fill up in the AM and then walk off breakfast around West Village and Soho for hours. It’s a great way to kick off your weekend and start your Saturday!

Bemelmans Bar at the Carlyle Hotel: 35 East 76th Street

Another great date experience is stopping at Bemelmans Bar at the Carlyle Hotel. The martinis are divine and the crowd is always entertaining. After drinks, stroll the streets and head into Central Park for a walk!

Shinsei Restaurant: 7713 Inwood Road, Dallas, Texas

The Honor Bar: 26 Highland Park Village, Dallas, Texas

In Dallas, we go to Shinsei (for a more sexy, upscale experience) and sit at the bar. Our other regular spot is the Honor Bar–we love having drinks around the outdoor fire pit!

At-Home Date Ideas

Experience an At-Home Wine Class: We love at-home wine pairing experiences! Airbnb offers well-done online experiences including wine classes and pairings with a sommelier.

Five Senses also offers what they call "full-sensory experiences” which includes pairing music, wine, cheese, and chocolate together! We are big winos, so this is a great opportunity to learn more about wine together and try new ones.

Divide and Conquer Your Menu: My husband is an incredible cook and I’m better at baking. When we do an at-home date night, I choose the main dish (that he cooks) and he chooses what’s for dessert (that I bake!).

Another idea if you’re married: one of our favorite at-home date night things to do is to watch our wedding video, which we do at least every other month! It’s fun to look back on these amazing memories and the best weekend of our lives.

Plan an Activity-Filled Date

Get Moving for a Date: We love active dates where we can move our bodies! From NYC, you can do day trips to hike in the Catskills or Beacon and be back in time for dinner.

We also loved a summer weekend trip to Southampton, where we stay at an Airbnb and rent bikes to explore each of the towns. From Dallas, a weekend trip to Austin is always fun!

Set Up an Outdoor Picnic: We also love a good picnic on the West Side Highway. They're easy to put together: stop by Murray’s cheese for snacks, sandwiches, and wine and then post up at one of the piers.
