2022 Grammys Red Carpet: Our Favorite Looks

Last night’s Grammys red carpet marked an appropriately stylish end to awards season, with megastars and up-and-comers alike showing up in statement-making designer duds. Below, we’ve rounded up our favorite looks.

Look One

Though he may not have gone home with any statuettes, Lil Nas X won the red carpet. Never one to miss a cheeky reference, Lil Nas X rocked a suit on last night’s carpet that may have looked familiar to some. He wore a pearl-encrusted two-piece with a pair of matching platforms and electric blue eyeshadow to complement the needlepoint butterfly at the suit’s center. Reality fans loved the clear nod to Kim Kardashian, who wore a nearly identical Balmain dress to her Bachelorette in Paris in 2014.

Look Two

Hailey Bieber is a recent addition to iconic Hollywood stylist Karla Welch’s roster, her husband’s longtime go-to. Her minimalist influence showed through in their respective looks, which were a clear nod to nineties fashion. Hairstylist, Bryce Scarlett, opted to style Hailey’s newly brunette locks in a loose braid, which offset the layers of delicate diamond necklaces from Elsa Peretti for an ethereal, undone look. Justin’s look was a streetwear-inspired take on the minimalist trend, but his boxy Balenciaga suit was the least notable part of his look, which he accessorized with a pair of platform Crocs from the brand.

Look Three

In a sea of sleek suits and slip dresses, St. Vincent’s Spring 2022 Gucci gown made a statement. The shimmering mauve gown had a relatively simple cut—it was the feather-boa sleeves and hem that stole the show. Michele has said that the inspiration for the collection was Marilyn Monroe and Rita Hayworth, who represented glamour to him as a child. And it wasn’t her only win of the night—St. Vincent took home the Grammy for Best Alternative Album.

Look Four

Jon Batiste ended the evening with five awards, and he certainly showed up in a winning look. Though he made several outfit changes, he showed up in a suit that bucked tradition. From the rainbow-flecked sequins to the neon diamond pattern, Batiste accessorized the daring look with a sleek pair of square-toed shoes and jewels from Maison Boucheron.

Look Five

Fresh off his Oscar win, FINNEAS and his girlfriend Claudia Sulewski dressed to impress in coordinating Gucci suits. Both looks came from Michele’s Old Hollywood-inspired show. FINNEAS elevated his look with formal accents that felt like a playful take on prom night, while Sulewski took a riskier approach, wearing her suit with no shirt underneath–perhaps inspired by last week’s best-dressed guest.
