National Tequila Day: Cocktail Takeover

Calling all tequila lovers… today is National Tequila Day and Team SN could not be more excited. Mexican Mule

This National Tequila Day, we’re encouraging you to swap out your Moscow Mule for a Mexican Mule. The tequila version of the classic cocktail is refreshing and surprisingly simple to make, so there’s no excuse not to try something new today. 

Ingredients: 

  • 2 oz silver tequila 

  • 1 tbsp lime juice 

  • ½ oz orange liqueur

  • 4 oz ginger beer (or ginger ale for a sweeter, more subtle alternative) 

  • 1 lime wedge 

Directions: 

Combine tequila with ginger beer and orange liqueur, then add lime juice for an elevated citrus flavor. Pour over ice, add a lime wedge for garnish, and serve.

Skinny Spicy Margarita

Ingredients: 

  • 1.5 oz silver tequila

  • 3 oz water

  • 1 lime wedge 

  • Diced jalepeño 

  • Salt (for the rim)

Directions: 

First, combine water and tequila in a glass. Next, steep your Skinny Spicy Margarita sachet in the glass for three minutes. After that, salt the rim of your favorite cocktail glass, pour your margarita over ice, then add a lime wedge and diced jalepeño for garnish.

Siesta

If you’re looking for a more elevated cocktail to enjoy on National Tequila Day, Team SN has been loving the refreshing citrus flavors in a Siesta. Grab a couple of friends, and give this refreshing summer cocktail a try at your National Tequila Day happy hour. 

Ingredients: 

  • 2 oz tequila blanco

  • ½ oz Campari

  • ½ oz grapefruit juice

  • ½ oz lime juice

  • ½ oz simple syrup 

  • Grapefruit, lemon, or lime wedge 

Directions: 

Add tequila, Campari, grapefruit juice, lime juice, simple syrup, and ice into a cocktail shaker. Shake the mixture until cold, strain into your favorite cocktail glass, and add the citrus wedge of your choice to garnish.

Tequila Soda

At SN, we’re all about the classics, and that’s why you can never go wrong with a tequila soda. After all, they’re simple to make, easy on your wallet, and perfect for a hot summer afternoon. There are so many ways to spice up this go-to cocktail, so don’t be afraid to swap out a lime wedge for a lemon wedge, or consider trading club soda for your favorite seltzer brand — the opportunities are endless!

Ingredients: 

  • 1.5 oz silver tequila 

  • 3 oz club soda or seltzer water (up to your preference) 

  • 1-2 lime wedges (or another citrus) 

Directions: 

Combine tequila and soda water, squeeze your choice of citrus into a glass, then add the wedge to the rim. Pour mixture over ice and enjoy!
