How to Give Back This Holiday Season

'Tis the season for giving!

Want to give back in your city this holiday season but don't know where to start? We're here to help! We've put together a list of easy ways to give back in New York City, Los Angeles, Dallas, Miami, and Chicago.

From local charities to good deeds, see our recommendations for giving back in some of our favorite cities below!


Something Navy will be hosting a food drive through January 7th benefiting City Harvest! You can find donation boxes at both our Bleecker Street and Upper East Side store locations. We cannot wait to see the impact we will have on families in need during this season of giving! See below for items needed:

  • Canned fruit

  • Canned vegetables

  • Canned proteins (i.e. tuna or beans) 

  • Peanut butter (plastic jars) 

  • Macaroni and cheese (packaged) 

  • Soups

  • Hot and cold cereal (packaged, family-sized) 

  • Juice packs


Food on Foot is a nonprofit dedicated to assisting unhoused and low-income neighbors in Los Angeles with nutritious meals, clothing, and a fresh start through life-skills training, full-time employment, and permanent housing. They have many ways to give back this holiday season from their Make A Gift program, to different volunteer opportunities every Sunday from 12:30 pm to 2:30 pm.


The Angel Tree program is one of The Salvation Army's highest profile Christmas efforts. The North Texas Area Command Angel Tree is the perfect way to give back to children and seniors each year. You can help by "Adopting an Angel" or donating online!


Help ignite the power and promise of Miami's youth by giving back to Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Miami. You can volunteer by stepping in as a Big through either one-to-one mentoring or group engagement & mentoring or you can give back through donations and sponsorships. Make it a December to Remember and donate to their Holiday Drive!


Give the gift of nutritious meals to seniors and individuals with disabilities in need with Meals on Wheels Chicago by donating today. You can also help by volunteering, enrolling in Chicago's home meal delivery program, shopping at special retailers, attending fundraising events, and becoming a local sponsor!
