August Fashion Picks

"I actually discovered the brand Set Active from Taylor during her workout takeover but I have been hiking a lot and needed new activewear that I can also wear around after my hikes. These one shoulder ribbed sets are just too cute!"–Anna

"I just got my very first pieces of Something Navy swim and I love them so much! The Twist Two-Tone Bikini Top and Bottom are super flattering and comfortable. I’ve been wearing this set nonstop!"–Maggie

This style of sandals is so in this summer and I love Vince’s take on them. They’re super comfy as well!”–Taylor

"This summer I’m all about fashion utility. Since my shopping habits have changed drastically this year due to quarantine and a limited social life, I now find myself purchasing pieces that I plan to get a ton of use out of. Enter: my new dusty blue Back Bow One Piece from Something Navy! I’m super excited about wearing this not just to the beach and in the pool, but also out and about as a bodysuit. I am obsessed with the shape and feel, and love that the back tie and straps are adjustable!"–Pujah

"I like to feel comfortable while working, so I’m always in the market for a new pair of sweats. I bought the Meghan sweatpants from SN and they are SO soft, and give my laidback look an elevated feel."–Natalie

August Entertainment Picks

"I recently just binged all of the celebrity home tours on the Architectural Digest YouTube channel and I am obsessed."–Anna

"The Michelle Obama podcast recently debuted on Spotify and it’s amazing! The first episode features Michelle interviewing Barack–there’s something really special and captivating about hearing them have a causal conversation."–Maggie

"I am constantly listening to Dream It Real, a weekly podcast by Coach, hosted by writer Heben Nigatu. Each episode is an interview with a celebrity guest or thought leader about their dreams for themselves, for their communities and for the world. So many inspiring conversations–I can’t get enough!"–Pujah

"Apparently I’m extremely late to this show, but I recently started Brothers & Sisters because it’s streaming on Hulu and it is AMAZING. I’m a sucker for a good family drama and this show is just that. There are 5 seasons with around 20 episodes each so you’ll be set for a while. I’m currently on season 3 and it just keeps getting better."–Taylor

"I love finding shows that have a lot of seasons out because I get impatient waiting for the next episode or season to air (perfect for binge-watching). I’m currently really into Dynasty which is a remake of a 1980s show & let’s just say there is no lack of drama."–Natalie

August Beauty Picks

"I can not leave the house without this lip mask in my purse. It is the only thing that keeps my lips from drying out and it just feels amazing too!"–Anna

"I’ve been using this R + Co shampoo and conditioner set for weeks and my hair has never felt smoother or stronger. Plus. both formulas are free of parabens, sulfates, and are vegan."–Maggie

"I’m always on the hunt for skincare products with hyaluronic acid to help plump and hydrate my skin (especially under my eyes), and Neocutis’ Lumière Illuminating Eye Cream does exactly that. I love the formula–it’s super lightweight and also acts as a great base for concealer!"–Pujah

"Byrdeo’s rinse-free hand wash. We are all washing and cleansing our hands more than ever these days and this product is great for on the go! The best part is that it leaves my hands feeling moisturized unlike a normal hand sanitizer"–Taylor

"Elta MD’s UV Broad Spectrum Tinted Sunscreen is my must-have product this summer, especially being in Florida. It not only protects my face from sun exposure, but makes me feel moisturized and fresh (tip: the tinted version gives a nice glow while hiding some minor blemishes)!"–Natalie

What Team SN Can’t Turn Off at Midnight

"I really love the podcast The Diversity Gap podcast because they use vulnerable conversations and lessons to help explain the lack of diversity in our society and everyday culture and ways that you can actually make changes."–Anna

"Spotify currently has a playlist on their podcast channel called “In Remembrance of John Lewis” that I highly recommend listening to! It includes all of the speeches from the politician’s funeral–the work John Lewis did in his lifetime is incredible and these speeches are a true testament of his impact."–Taylor

"I recently started following social justice activist and anti-racism educator Marie Beecha on Instagram, where she shares insightful lessons, resources, and actionable advice in a digestible way. Her account is a must-follow."–Maggie

"I’m on the last chapter of Redefining Realness: My Path to Womanhood, Identity, Love & So Much More by Janet Mock and I can confidently say this was one of the most inspirational, eye-opening books I have ever read. The author publicly came out in 2011, and explained her experiences of growing up multiracial and trans in America. If you’re looking for a new book to binge, I highly recommend this one!"–Pujah

"The Instagram account @soyouwanttotalkabout breaks down political and social topics into a digestible way with graphic slides. It’s really helped me stay informed & educated on the latest issues and facilitates meaningful conversation amongst my group chat. Highly recommend following this account!"–Natalie
