How Arielle and Bailey Are Recycling Their Cotton Closet Staples For Earth Day
Earth Day is the perfect occasion to renew our dedication to environmentally friendly living. From lifestyle choices to recycling old clothing, there are countless ways to reduce our impact and care for the planet.
One of our favorite tactics is shopping for sustainable pieces made of natural fibers, like cotton. That's why we partnered with Cotton to create The Cotton Shop, a special curated collection of strong, classic, and iconic cotton products from the SN collection and Brands We Love.
In honor of Earth Day, Arielle and Bailey are cleaning out their closets and deciding which denim pieces they should recycle with Cotton’s Blue Jeans Go Green™ program. Authentic denim is made from cotton, and through this recycling endeavor, old denim is able to be transformed to become something new.
First, zippers and hardware are removed and the denim is returned to its original cotton fiber state. Then, the fiber is recycled into an entirely new product, like denim insulation, which for the last 15 years the Blue Jeans Go Green™ program has distributed to organizations like Habitat for Humanity. See what we mean? Your much-loved old denim pieces can have an entirely new life!
