One Destination, Three Looks: How to Travel in SN Style this Season

When it comes to fall travel, our main problem is never the lack of options. In fact, we feel like there are hardly enough weekends in the season to get everywhere we want to go...

Where to go:

From Vermont to the Catskills and beyond, it’s hard to choose a favorite spot. And while all of these getaways have their own unique virtues, today, we wanted to highlight a particularly special spot: Washington, Connecticut. More specifically: The Grace Mayflower Inn, is a stunning and splurge-worthy resort worthy of any long weekend of the year, but particularly pleasant in the fall. And while you won’t struggle to find activities, whether that’s a sauna trip, a nature walk, or something else entirely, there is one element of your travels worth discussing: your wardrobe. We’ve seen some very chic patrons at this hotel, and you’ll want to make sure your own outfits match up. So, let’s discuss our ideal outfits for a weekend in the Connecticut countryside.

What to wear en route:

Washington is a 2+-hour trip, so you’ll want to ensure you’re sufficiently comfortable for the ride. Throw on the SN Ribbed Turtleneck Dress to cut a cozy–but stylish–figure in the car over. Or, if you're looking for something a little more casual, you can never go wrong with one of our classic lounge sets, sweater sets, or matching leggings and classic button up. Just don't forget to throw in a hat for the car ride home.

What to wear during the day:

First, let’s talk about footwear. The Grace Mayflower may be a wellness-focused resort, but when you’re not in a spa robe, you’re more than likely going to be spending your time outside, soaking in the beautiful natural landscape that Washington has to offer. That means durable footwear, first and foremost, and our SN & ba&sh Cighter boots are a perfect choice. Our long-sleeved crewneck tee is an easy layering piece, so why not throw it on under our teddy patch-pocket jacket with a pair of our cropped leggings and our ribbed beanie?

What to wear at night:

When it comes to eveningwear, you have a few options. First, you can dress up, and we love our halter sweater dress with shrug for that. If you want to keep things a bit more casual, go for a nice top. Our crisp, classic mock-neck button-up pairs perfectly with elegant wide-leg trousers or seemingly simple jeans with a subtle twist, like our denim pants with slit. If you’d prefer to go for a more playful (but still fashion-forward) option, you can’t go wrong pairing our peasant blouse with our cropped straight leg ecru jeans. Just don’t forget to pack your Nori press.
